Puentes de Cristo was founded in 1981 by a group of pastors from the Rio Grande River Valley, on both the US and Mexican sides of the border. These pastors wanted to develop closer ties with fellow Presbyterians on the other side of the border.

Based out of Nuevo Laredo, México and Laredo, Texas, Proyecto Amistad was established in 1985 by the Presbyterian Border Ministry, in Eagle Pass, TX and Piedras Negras, Mexico.

Pasos de Fe currently has six missions/churches in Juarez, the second largest city in Mexico, and one church in Chihuahua City.

Frontera de Cristo is called by God to a ministry of reconciliation on the US/Mexican border addressing spirit, body, and mind. Frontera de Cristo shares the Good News of Jesus Christ through its six ministry areas: Church Development, Family Ministry, Health Ministry, Mission Education, the New Hope Community Center and the Micro-credit Ministry.

Compañeros en Misión (Partners in Mission) is a program of La Iglesia Nacioanl Presbiteriana de Mexico and th Presbyterian Church (USA) in the state of Sonora, Mexico, and the state of Arizona, USA.

Tijuana, a city of two million people, is located in Baja California, across the border from San Diego. Coming from states in the interior and south of Mexico, new immigrants flock to the city to start over. In numerous families the husbands and older sons work in assembly plants for meager wages, and the women stay home to care for their children, clean their tiny homes, and cook.
