PBM Has Bold Plans for the Future!
About PBM
Mission Sites > Pueblos Hermanos
Tijuana, a city of two million people, is located in Baja California, across the border from San Diego. Coming from states in the interior and south of Mexico, new immigrants flock to the city to start over. In numerous families the husbands and older sons work in assembly plants for meager wages, and the women stay home to care for their children, clean their tiny homes, and cook.
The Micro-Credit Program of Pueblos Hermanos helps families set up businesses by making small loans and providing support in all aspects of development. An outreach worker makes weekly visits to assist in solving problems, to lead in prayer and Bible study, and to keep payments on track. Loans of up to $1000 are made to qualified borrowers at low interest rates. Pueblos Hermanos plans to begin a new church. As the church grows it too will reach out to others. Leadership courses are provided to churches in Baja California, MX. The work is also supported by Baja Presbyterian Missions.
